The Creole French also known as “patwa” (patois) or Kwéyòl is Spoken more predominantly on creole day. The local programmes and news on the various broadcasting stations are All encouraged to reflect the creole language. The entire population takes the opportunity to showcase their command of the language from the general public, roadside and market vendors, businesspeople, local television and radio hosts, to even the Youngest school student.

Creole day in St. Lucia is a highly anticipated affair on island. Patrons look forward to partaking in the events being held island wide. As St. Lucians, we take great pride in our cultural heritage and join in celebrating our island’s rich history.
