Twelve Days of Giving
As you may have noticed by now, the festive mood has completely overtaken us! Over the past week, we’ve been giving back to our guests with our ’12 Days Of Christmas’ giveaway. From Candy canes and drink specials to cookies and spa teasers, our guests received a little something special every day.
Tomorrow’s the last day and the prize is really special, if you’re going to be staying with us you’ll see. Of course, Santa himself will be coming in on Christmas Day (we hear he might be sailing into Reduit Beach) to deliver presents to the kids.

Our very own Roti making competition
This week we put together a cooking competition for some roti making greats. Our Executive Director extended a challenge to two of the most popular roti makers (Shirley Devi and Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Forrester) on Reduit Beach to face off against our award-winning Executive Sous Chef Peter Lawrence.
With Reduit beach as the beautiful backdrop, the Roti Throwdown took place at our new Sea Grape Beach Bar. Each contestant was tasked with preparing (live and from scratch) a chicken and seafood roti within 20 minutes for each.
Points were awarded for taste, shell, filling and presentation. Our Judges were Mr. Noorani Azeez (Executive Vice President of the St. Lucia Hotel & Tourism Association), Mr. Ronald Ramjattan (Founder and CEO of Baron Foods limited) and Chef Adil Sherwani (Owner of Spice of India Restaurant).
In the end, Liz won the chicken roti category and was the overall winner capturing the title of ‘Best Roti on Reduit Beach’ with 445 points. Chef Peter won the best seafood roti category and placed second with 414 points. Shirley placed third with 325 points.
Team Member Spotlight: Eldon George
This month we’re highlighting one of the friendly faces at the Front Desk of the Bay Gardens Hotel and Bay Gardens Inn – Eldon George. Eldon has worked with us for nearly four years now and what you may not know is that he started off as one of our security officers. He had a true passion for meeting and interacting with people which fuelled his desire to move up the ladder.
Now, as a Front Desk Agent, Eldon gets to do what he enjoys most – meeting people and learning from them and soaking up their rich cultures. He does his best as well, to impart a little bit of St. Lucian culture on his guests when the opportunity presents itself. He describes himself as being totally committed to the happiness and comfort of his guests.

For years in St. Lucia, there’s one thing more than anything else that has become a holiday season staple – the fruit cake.
